Siddhant's Blogs: World's Most Peaceful Painting

Once upon a time, a famous art gallery declared a contest and announced that the painter which will make a painting that depicts peace(the world's best painting) will be awarded a 10 million dollar. This became the headline. Many great and popular painters across the world participated in the contest. There were more than a thousand paintings, the judges shortlisted the 100 paintings and exhibited them in the art gallery. All painters, media reporters and 1000's of visitors were invited to the exhibition. Because of the prize money, everyone was interested to know the winner. Everyone was thinking, how would be that painting and who will be declared as the winner. Everyone was curious. Finally, the most awaited day was here, every painting was so amazing and better than other ones. Some paintings had a huge queue to see the painting. Some paintings were having a clean water river, which was surrounded by mountains covered with thick layers of snow and the sun was rising behind the mountains. One painter depicted peace with the help of full moon night, a peaceful lake with clean and still water. In the dark night, some stars were shining with the moon. The contest was very healthy. It became difficult for the judges to shortlist the best painting that depicts peace. Finally, the judges selected the painting and covered it up with a curtain. All the painters, media reporters, and visitors were sitting in front of the painting. The curtains were removed and the moment everyone saw the painting, everyone was tensed. No one was able to understand what was happening as the painting which was selected as the best painting was not depicting peace in any form. Everyone thought that it was a mistake made by the judges and the art gallery. Some painters went to the owner of the art gallery and asked him, "Is it a mistake, did you selected the wrong painting". The owner smiled and said, "No this is the correct painting, judges selected this painting as the best painting". All the painters were filled with anger and they revolted. Seeing this all journalists went to the owner and asked him the reason for choosing that painting. The owner smiled and answered, "Before asking me anything just look at the painting closely you all saw that the painting had thunderstorms, everything is destroyed and the clouds are dark but you didn't saw one thing that the painting contains a house and the house has a small window where a man is standing. The man is standing and staring outside, he had no fear on his face but he was smiling and he was feeling relaxed and this is the meaning of peace. Peace does not mean everything outside us is relaxed and still and then we taste peace, it will be temporary. The real meaning of peace is that don't care what is happening outside but being still and calm from inside(from your heart). If someone's heart is not calm and relaxed if you will take him to the most beautiful place on the earth he will be depressed from inside all the time but on the other hand, the person who's heart is relaxed and calm, even if anything happens in his surrounding he'll feel good. This is the only and pure meaning of peace.
